Thinking Like a Sociologist

Friday I introduced the first collaborative wiki assignment to my second semester set of students.  Seeing that we're learning about China, I thought that it would be a great way to enrich the learning process as well as engage in some friendly debates about the issues behind gun control and ownership.

The students are working with peers who sit at the same table throughout the six periods of the day.  There was a lot of heavy traffic on the wiki over the weekend.  It was really impressive to see how the students were working on their own time to not only post their responses, but also edit it for grammar and clarity.  So, far my students are working on their initial posts.  On Tuesday, I'll introduce the task for the second response...I'm really looking forward to reading what they have to say about it.
